SRD R370 Grant — What to Expect in July
The SRD R370 grant payment window for July 2026 opens on 4 July and runs through to 31 July. Unlike other grants that are paid on a single day, the SRD grant is processed in batches throughout the month. This means your neighbour may receive their payment earlier or later than you — this is normal and does not mean there is a problem with your application.
If your status shows Approved for July, your payment will be processed within this window. Beneficiaries with bank accounts typically receive payment earlier in the cycle. Those collecting at retail pay points (Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer) or the Post Office may need to wait a few extra days after their batch is processed.
Tip: Check your status at srd.sassa.gov.za before heading to a pay point. Only go to collect once your status shows "Payment in Progress" or "Approved" for July.
Older Persons and Disability Grant — July 2026
Older Persons Grant and Disability Grant beneficiaries will receive their July payments from 1 July 2026. These grants are paid first each month before other grant types. Payment is made directly to your SASSA card or bank account.
The current grant amount for both the Older Persons Grant and Disability Grant is R2,190 per month. This amount was increased in the 2026 Budget and applies for the full 2026/2027 financial year.
Child Support Grant — July 2026
Child Support Grant payments will be processed from 3 July 2026. The current Child Support Grant amount is R530 per child per month. Caregivers who receive this grant on behalf of multiple children will receive the combined amount in a single payment.
If you are a new Child Support Grant applicant, your first payment may take longer as SASSA processes your documentation. Existing beneficiaries should receive payment on or shortly after 3 July.
What to Do If You Don't Receive Payment in July
If the July payment window passes and you have not received your grant despite an Approved status, take the following steps:
- Check your status again at srd.sassa.gov.za to confirm it still shows Approved for July.
- Verify that your banking details are correct on the portal — incorrect details are the most common cause of missed payments.
- If collecting at a pay point, confirm your payment is ready before travelling. Some batches are processed later in the month.
- Contact the SASSA helpline on 0800 60 10 11 (toll-free) to report a missing payment.
- Visit your nearest SASSA office if the helpline cannot resolve the issue.
July 2026 Public Holidays That May Affect Payments
There are no public holidays in July 2026 that fall on the scheduled payment dates, so no delays are expected for July. SASSA typically moves payment dates forward when they fall on public holidays or weekends, but this is not necessary for July 2026.
